Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić spoke today with Commander of Allied Forces in Europe and Commander of the US European Command General Alexus Grynkewich on issues of common interest.
Gašić stressed the importance of the long-standing cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces with NATO within the Partnership for Peace Programme, as well as the development of relations with the United States.
He pointed out the importance of continuous dialogue in order to improve trust and understanding between the two sides, adding that Serbia’s priority is to preserve stability in the region.
The Minister emphasised that Serbia remains a predictable and reliable partner committed to military neutrality and creating good relations with all stakeholders, in accordance with the country’s interests.
He positively assessed the current level of cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR as the only legitimate armed force in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija and a key factor in the security and survival of Serbs in their centuries-old homelands.
