According to a statement published on the World Bank’s web site, the aim of the project is to help develop a sustainable health care system, where providers are rewarded for quality and efficiency.
Additional financing will enable the Serbian government to improve the quality of hospital care.
These reforms need to be sustained over time to yield the best results, reads the statement, adding that with their additional financing the World Bank will provide the support that is needed during the next phase of reform.
The World Bank concluded that these activities will add to the efficiency and financial viability of the Serbian health care system.
