The Serbian parliament will today reconvene to debate amendments to the proposed bill on the 2009 budget, envisaging revenues of RSD 698.7 billion and expenditure of RSD 748.3 billion.
Around 250 amendments to this bill have been submitted and Minister of Finance Diana Dragutinovic will discuss them with caucuses, to help speed up the debate.
The regular autumn session of the parliament ends on December 29 and according to announcements, the parliament will also work during the weekend on December 27 and 28.
If MPs do not adopt a budget before the year’s end, the state must shift to provisional financing of public spending.
During this session, the parliament is also to discuss over 250 amendments to accompanying laws proposed with the budget.
