SIEPA’s Export Sector Head Tatjana Radovanov told a press conference that the awards will be granted in four categories: best exporter, the best new export product, for winning a new market, and the best exporter in the category of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Radovanov said that the award helped previous winners improve their export results and announced new incentive programmes from SIEPA.
She added that in 2009 SIEPA will help Serbian companies open offices abroad and take part in international fairs.
General Manager of DHL in Serbia Darko Babic said that DHL will finance the best exporters in three categories to the tune of €30,000 in services.
Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and jury member Igor Brkanovic said that SMEs in Serbia provide 43% of total export activity, adding that the government will adopt a SME development strategy by 2013.
General Manager of last year’s winner Foodland Vaso Lekic said that the €10,000 prize helped the company send samples of their products around the world, which increased its exports.
