Serbian Minister of Trade and Services Slobodan Milosavljevic stated that the Ministry will initiate the forming of a national association of retailers and presented a strategy for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Milosavljevic said that this association will be modeled after the same one in Germany which operates for 80 years already and has 100,000 members from all sectors that generate a turnover of €250 billion per year.
The aim of the strategy for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises is to preserve the existing firms and create conditions for development of new ones.
Milosavljevic said that the Ministry will try to help commercial chains expand as well as new investments in commerce.
This will improve quality of supply and reduce prices on the market, he said.
The Minister announced an action to improve work of the Market Inspection by introducing a 24/7 phone service.
