The statement adds that companies to be showcased at the prestigious fair are 21. Oktobar, Autoventil, Fabrika Akumulatora Sombor, SKL, Fadip, Fritek, Beogradska Industrija Precizne Mehanike, Precizni Liv Potisje, Prva Petoletka, Streit Jucit, Tigar and TPV Sumadija.
During the official opening of the Serbian stand on September 17 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic and Minister of Trade and Services Slobodan Milosavljevic will present the national development plan for the Serbian automotive industry and answer journalists’ questions.
The emphasis will be put on free trade agreements which Serbia signed with Russia, the EU and regional countries (CEFTA).
A wide range of products of the once strong Serbian car industry will be presented at the fair. The annual production capacity now stands at 250,000 vehicles a year, however, last year the 12 above-mentioned companies earned €52 million from export and hired 6,000 workers.
A total of 4,600 exhibitors will participate at this year’s fair, and it is expected that over 160,000 people from all over the world visit the car show. SIEPA organised the participation of Serbian companies at the exposition, while the Ministry of Trade and Services co-financed it, and technical support was provided by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Serbian Automotive Association, USAID and GTZ.
