Appearing on Radio Television Serbia, Dinkic said that Serbia will propose the abolishment of tax on the import of Russian cars in Serbia and customs tax on the import of Serbian car in Russia, as part of the inter-state agreement on free trade.
He said that Volkswagen intends to build a car factory in Serbia in order to export cars to Russia, provided that Russia abolishes the customs tax on cars from Serbia.
Dinkic added that talks with Italy’s Iveco on the production of buses in Kragujevac are also underway and announced that next week he will meet with Mercedes representatives to discuss the manufacture of cars in Serbia.
Dinkic noted that any other international producer who decides to produce cars in Serbia will also have support from the Serbian government, such as free construction land for erecting the production facility.
