Government halts privatisation of companies in former Yugoslav republics

The Serbian Privatisation Agency and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development decided to halt the privatisation of socially-owned companies with headquarters in former Yugoslav republics.
The Agency says in a statement that after additional consultations with experts in succession-related matters, the Agency and the Ministry will make a final decision on these companies, of which, according to the Agency’s data, there are around 130.
Today’s decision does not only refer to companies whose headquarters are in Slovenia, as certain media outlets reported, but to all companies whose headquarters are in the territory of any of the former Yugoslav republics, reads the statement.
