May retail prices, services up by 1.8% against April

The Serbian Statistics Office said today that retail prices in Serbia in May 2008 went up by 1.8% against the previous month.
Compared to May 2007, retail prices went up by 14.5%.
Observed by groups, the greatest price increases against May this year were recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.8%), prices of transport services (1.3% due to an increase in the price of oil derivatives), clothing and footwear (1.1%) and the prices of services in restaurants and hotels (1% each).
The prices of other goods and services remained at almost the same level.
