Foreign Ministry protests to European Parliament

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said tonight that this Ministry has sent a severe diplomatic protest to European Parliament as a delegation of Kosovo parliament appeared under the flag of an “independent Kosovo”.
Jeremic told RTS that Kosovo-Metohija is not an independent country and therefore this is utterly unacceptable.
Ministry representatives were in constant contact with European Parliament members from Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia and Romania, who also protested.
The Minister recalled that the EU has not recognised Kosovo noting that some states did. He explained that the Foreign Ministry sent the protest in line with the procedure of European Parliament.
Jeremic expressed expectation that similar events will not occur in the future.
