Dragan Kojadinovic
The bill stipulates that a line parliament committee, and not the parliament itself, is tasked with proposing a certain number of Council members, Kojadinovic told the parliament which discussed the proposed legislation at a session today.
Recalling that the broadcasting law was adopted in July 2002, Kojadinovic said that irregularities in the appointment of two Council members have blocked the work of the Council and implementation of a large number of law provisions.
The proposed changes and amendments to the broadcasting law aim to eliminate problems in the work of the Broadcasting Agency Council, facilitate the appointment of Council members, and harmonise legislation with the Constitutional Charter of Serbia-Montenegro, the Minister said, adding that Serbia’s broadcasting legislation must be brought up to European standards.
