Examined by sectors, in February 2008 compared to the same month in 2007, there was a growth of 19.5% in the electricity, gas and water supply sector, 10.5% in the manufacturing sector, and 10.2% in quarrying and mining sector.
According to data on industrial production in February 2008, compared to February 2007, energy production grew by 15.2%, production of capital goods increased by 15.1%, intermediate goods, energy excluded, by 11.9%, while the production of durable consumer goods fell by 8.2%.
The industrial production volume in February 2008, compared to February 2007, showed that there was growth in 22 divisions which participate in the structure of industrial production with 88%, while production fell in seven divisions which participate in the structure of industrial production with 12%.
Industrial production growth in February 2008, compared to February 2007, was mainly influenced by the following sectors: generation of electricity, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, manufacture of basic metals, manufacture of machinery and equipment, except electrical equipment and manufacture of food products.
The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for February 2008, compared to the 2007 average, indicates a 4.2% growth in overall industrial production and a 4.9% growth in manufacturing.
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for February 2008, compared to January 2008, indicates a 0.3% fall in overall industrial production and a 0.3% fall in manufacturing.
The production of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is monitored based on a sample of 325 selected units. In February, 114 enterprises submitted the requested data. Including the assessment of the industrial production of SMEs, in February 2008 compared to the 2007 average, overall industrial production decreased by 1.5% (otherwise it fell by 2.1%) and manufacturing decreased by 5.3% (otherwise it fell by 6.1%).
