According to the statement, bearing in mind that the top ranked bidder, the consortium consisting of Daxta - Daxin Petroleum PTE Ltd Singapore and Tamoza Trading Ltd Cyprus did not sign the sale contract, and the deadline for concluding the contract with the top ranked bidder expired on January 29 this year, the Privatisation Agency invited the second ranked bidder, the consortium of Palmali Shipping and Palmali Holding Company Ltd, from Malta to begin negotiations with the Privatisation Agency to conclude the sale contract.
The 30 days deadline for signing the contract was extended by 15 days as requested by the second ranked bidder, so that the final deadline for signing the contract was March 17, 2008.
The Privatisation Agency invited the second ranked bidder to sign the contract on March 14 this year, but the consortium requested for a further postponement of the signing.
The Privatisation Agency then invited the consortium to sign the contract on March 17, 2008 which was the final deadline according to the decree on the sale of capital and assets by public tender.
Authorised representatives of the aforementioned consortium failed to sign the contract within this deadline.
The Privatisation Agency will decide further steps in the privatisation of the JRB company according to the law and in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and will keep the public informed.
