Industrial production from January to October 2007 saw an increase of 4.7% against the same period last year.
By sectors, electric power, gas and water production and distribution sector saw a growth of 6.6%, the mining and quarrying sector fell by 1.6% and the processing industry went up by 2.9% against October 2006.
The production of the following goods recorded a growth: consumer goods by 13.2%, energy by 7.6%, non-durable consumer goods by 3.6%, while fall was recorded with capital goods by 3.9% and intermediate products, energy excluded, 0.5%.
The volume of industrial production in October 2007 against the same month last year recorded a growth in 16 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 73%, whereas decline was recorded in 13 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 27%.
The largest influence on industrial production in October 2007 compared to October 2006 was due to the production of chemicals and chemical products, power energy, tobacco products, oil derivatives and food products.
The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for October 2007, compared to 2006 average, indicates a 2% growth of the overall industrial production and a growth of 0.4% in the processing industry.
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for October 2007 compared to September 2007 indicates a fall of 1.1% in the overall industrial production and 4% in the processing industry.
The production of small-sized enterprises (employing fewer than 50 workers) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is monitored on a sample of 335 selected units from the processing sector. In October 2007, 114 enterprises submitted the requested data.
When the assessment of the industrial production of small-sized enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production increased by 15.7% (otherwise this growth stands at 15.2%) and the processing industry by 16.7% (otherwise the growth stands at 16.1%) compared to the 2006 average.
