Prices of goods are up by 0.8%, and of services by 0.1%, while compared to December 2006 retail prices increased by 7.5%.
The cost of living in Serbia in October 2007, against the previous month, rose on average by 0.5%, while against December 2006; it is up by 8.6%.
The discrepancy between the retail price index and the cost of living index is due to various affects of price increase of individual items.
Prices of agricultural products were lower by 1.7% in October against the previous month. The decrease in prices of vegetables and fruits influenced this index, while the prices of eggs and fish increased.
The prices of industrial food products increased on average by 1.6%, in which sector prices of flour, bakery items and milk and dairy products went up.
The prices of beverages went up on average by 0.8%, while prices of tobacco increased by 2.2%.
The prices of industrial non-food products went up on average by more than 0.4%. In this sector the prices of oil derivates increased, while prices of other products were stable.
The prices of services increased on average by 0.1%.
