The statement adds that industrial production from January to September 2007 saw an increase of 4.7% against the same period last year.
By sectors, electric power, gas and water production and distribution sector saw a growth of 3.7%, whereas the mining and quarrying sector fell by 6% and the processing industry by 0.7% against September 2006.
The production of the following goods also recorded a fall: intermediate products, energy excluded, by 5.7% and non-durable consumer goods by 1.2%. A growth of 20.7% was recorded with capital goods, of 9.2% with durable consumer goods and of 2.1% with energy.
The volume of industrial production in September 2007 against the same month last year recorded a fall in 14 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 35%, whereas growth was recorded in 15 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 65%.
The largest negative influence on industrial production in September 2007 compared to September 2006 was due to the production of basic metals, clothes and fur, products made of non-metallic minerals and tobacco.
The largest positive influence in the first nine months of 2007 against the same period last year was due to the production of food, machines and appliances except electrical ones, production of electric energy and basic metals.
The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for September 2007, compared to the 2006 average, indicates a 3.1% growth of the overall industrial production and a growth of 4.5% in the processing industry.
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for September 2007 compared to August 2007 indicates a fall of 2% in the overall industrial production and 1.3% in the processing industry.
The production of small-sized enterprises (employing fewer than 50 workers) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is monitored on a sample of 335 selected units from the processing sector.
In September 2007, 118 enterprises submitted the requested data. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-sized enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production increased by 3.9% (otherwise this growth stands at 2.6%) and the processing industry by 6.8% (otherwise the growth stands at 5.1%) compared to the 2006 average.
