At the celebration of BIA’s anniversary, Bulatovic said that all members of the agency are committed to these tasks despite the fact that inherited weaknesses in the agency and the society as a whole are still present.
He stressed that Serbian citizens can be at ease since all BIA’s activities are solely aimed at protecting the state and citizens in line with the effective state policy and based on the legally determined level of authorisations allocated to the agency.
BIA is a year older, but also a year younger because it now has another generation of highly-educated employees. Together with their senior colleagues, they compose a unanimous group characterised by professionalism and patriotism, said Bulatovic.
He added that serving the country with the full respect of the law and democratic principles is the founding stone which BIA is based on and which gives it strength to execute its tasks.
Bulatovic thanked the guests for attending the celebration and added that their presence demonstrates that they understand the necessity of creating a social consensus on the stance that national security is the agency’s main task, as well as the general concern of the community.
Present at the celebration of the Serbian national security agency’s 108th anniversary were state top officials, representatives of political parties, the diplomatic corps, religious communities, culture and the media.
