Widening cooperation between Serbia and Germany in the areas of the chemicals industry, telecommunications, high technologies, energy and food was also discussed at the meeting.
Germany is Serbia’s top foreign trading partner among EU countries, and Bavaria, the largest province of Germany, is showing growing interest in permanent presence in South Eastern European markets, especially Serbia.
On the second day of the property fair Expo Real 2007 in Munich, Dinkic presented the master plans for Palic and Stara Planina, and informed foreign investors on investment opportunities in Serbian tourism.
He said that Stara Planina is one of the most ambitious projects in South Eastern Europe, and investors appreciated the quality of the project and investment opportunities it offers.
The Minister added that private investments worth €200 million are expected in this project, while the state will invest in the necessary infrastructure.
Dinkic expressed the conviction that this will be the first and also the most important step for beginning serious tourism development in Serbia, and recalled that currently Serbia has tourism proceeds worth half a billion dollars, and the aim is to raise this figure to a billion dollars during the next few years.
