The Ministry of Economy and Regional Development says in a statement that the session will be held in line with the bilateral agreement on economic cooperation and the Czech delegation will be headed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Milan Hovorka.
Apart from constituting the mixed committee, the aim of this session is to analyse bilateral economic relations and identify joint activities with the aim of advancing cooperation in areas which are in the interest of both countries – trade, tourism and entrepreneurship (regional cooperation), energy, transport and utility infrastructure, environmental protection, agriculture and assistance for development.
Conclusions reached at the session will enable further development of cooperation in the stated areas, as well as realisation of projects in the upcoming period which imply support to market reforms, primarily in the finance sector, privatisation and the creation of an appropriate legal framework for further development of entrepreneurship, as well as encouraging foreign direct investment.
Results achieved in commodity exchange with the Czech Republic, particularly in the last 2 years, show positive movements. Last year’ exchange was doubled in comparison with 2001 and stood at over $300 million, and this year’s export and import have retained this positive trend, adds the statement.
