According to the statement, retail prices of goods went up by 1.1%, while prices of services on average remained level with last month, but went up by 6.9% against December 2006.
The cost of living in Serbia in September this year against the previous month went up by 1.8%, while, when compared to December 2007 they rose by 8.1%.
The discrepancy between the retail price index and the cost of living index is due to various affects of price increase of individual items.
By product groups in September 2007 against the previous month prices of agricultural products rose by 2.5%, and the increase in prices of vegetables and eggs influenced this index.
The prices of industrial food products rose on average by 3.9%. Prices rose for bread, flour, cooking oil, meat products, milk and dairy items.
Prices of beverages on average rose by 0.8%, while the prices of tobacco remained level with the previous month.
The prices of industrial non-food products decreased on average by 0.2%. In this group the prices of oil derivates fell, while prices of other products did not change significantly.
The prices of services remained on average level with last month.
