During his visit to Russia, Popovic met with representatives of Lukoil, Gazprom and Basic Elements.
These companies are interested in taking part in tenders for continuation of works on Kolubara B and Nikola Tesla thermo electrical power plants.
Popovic talked with representatives of Gazprom about construction of gas pipeline “southern stream” whose final route is still not determined and added that economic interest will be the most important for determining that route.
The Serbian delegation did everything to convince the Russian partners that it is most profitable that the gas pipeline goes through Serbia. Popovic said that Russian company Gazprom Neft is interested in taking part in privatisation of the Serbian Oil Industry.
On the visit to Russia, the Serbian government delegation was led by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic, and apart from Popovic, it also included Minister of Trade and Services Predrag Bubalo and Minister of Finance Mirko Cvetkovic.
