Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic opened today the newly constructed part of the Paracin municipal building which houses the department for urban planning, building, communal, resident, property and legal relations, in which a sum over RSD 8 million was invested.
Markovic toured the municipality of Paracin and said that this local self-government has excellent cooperation with ministries. He recalled that a sum worth RSD 5 million was approved from state funds for making roads in eight villages in Paracin.
In talks with president of the local self-government Sasa Paunovic, the Minister said that the administration in Paracin is at the very top in municipal administrations and sets an example for other municipalities in Serbia.
Paunovic specified that the surface area of the newly constructed building, which was opened in the framework of marking municipality days, covers 250 square metres.
According to Paunovic, Paracin needs € 40 million to resolve infrastructure problems, and the municipality could not finish these works on its own before 20 or 30 years.
The municipality awaits state help and if cooperation from the previous seven years continues, a large number of problems faced by residents of Paracin will be solved within the next 10 years, concluded Paunovic.
