Jeremic started his
two-day visit to London by talks with British Foreign Minister David Miliband. Jeremic conveyed to Miliband Serbia's position that unilateral moves concerning Kosovo would be very dangerous and would have dramatic consequences to stability and peace in the Balkans.
Great Britain is fully committed to the negotiating process and wants that the EU representative in the Contact Group's mediating troika, Wolfgang Ischinger, be given full support.
Jeremic underlined during the meeting that if Great Britain endorsed the unilateral solution for the status of Kosovo, it would jeopardise stability in the region and push the western Balkans away from the EU.
One of the topics of today's meeting was European integration of the western Balkans, Jeremic said and added that he was promised that Great Britain will increase its diplomatic activity in the EU in order to speed up the process of Serbia's integration into the EU.
The Serbian Foreign Minister voiced hope that
tonight's meeting with the mediating "troika" will be mostly dedicated to organisation of the first round of direct negotiations of Belgrade and Pristina, which will be held in New York in late September.
During the visit to London, Jeremic will also meet with president of the foreign affairs committee of British parliament Mike Gapes and with foreign policy advisor to the British Prime Minister Simon McDonald.
