Tadic addressed the 57th session of WHO Regional Committee for Europe, which is taking place in Belgrade, by saying that WHO’s activity is very important as it is for the benefit of all people.
He expressed assurance that Serbian scientists will continue to contribute to the development of health as well as general benefit of mankind.
WHO Director General Margaret Chan also addressed the participating delegates and said that it is hard to get attention of politicians when health is concerned and pointed out that all countries must take care of environmental protection because of global warning threat.
The conference, which will finish on September 20, gathered over 300 delegates from 53 states of the WHO European region.
The conference is organised by the WHO Regional Committee for Europe and hosted by the Serbian Ministry of Health.
