Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated that the EU is the crucial place where Serbia should seek political and diplomatic support for a compromise solution to the status of Kosovo-Metohija.
Jeremic said prior to his
visit to London today that Serbia has to be active both in direct negotiations and diplomatic talks so as to support maximum support for continuation of negotiations should a compromise is not reached until December 10.
He said that finding a compromise advocated by Serbia has great support in the UN Security Council, and especially the Russian Federation and China.
The Minister announced that he will try to use his visit to London to open a new page in bilateral relations with the UK.
I will ask from my UK colleagues is to make effort for this negotiating process to have the chance to succeed, the Foreign Minister said and warned that this will not happen should international officials agree to again put on table Martti Ahtisaari’s plan.
Commenting on the statements of Kosovo’s provisional Prime Minister Agim Ceku that Albanians are losing patience and that they will proclaim independence by themselves, Jeremic repeated that any unilateral move would bear dramatic consequences for regional stability.
