Following a tour of the projects in this municipality which are being financed with funds from the NIP, Djilas said that along with infrastructure, human resources, new jobs and rural development are the priorities in NIP for Kosovo-Metohija.
He said that in 2008 RSD 2.2 billion will be allocated to the province from the NIP, and this sum could be larger depending upon projects.
According to Djilas, Serbia has funds to realise all concrete projects which will provide people with a better life and thus show that it cares about people in Kosovo-Metohija.
Following a visit to the sports hall, the Jagnjenica – Prevez road and houses for those who returned financed with funds from the NIP, Djilas informed municipality presidents from Kosovo-Metohija on the way in which they may compete for funds from the NIP by October 1.
President of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Vuko Antonijevic said that RSD 193 million will be allocated from the National Investment Plan for Zubin Potok from the NIP, and specified that RSD 45 million was allocated for the Jagnjenica – Prevez road, while a sum of RSD 92 million was allocated for the sports hall which will be completed within a month.
Antonjevic expressed expectation that by the end of the year works begun on the part of the Zubin Potok – Dren road will be finished. A sum of RSD 51 million was allocated for the project. Works are also expected to be completed soon on construction of housing facilities for internally displaced persons.
He said that funds will also be allocated from the NIP for construction of water supply system and sports hall in Kosovska Mitrovica, adding that by the end of the year all priority projects for Kosovo-Metohija to be funded from the NIP in 2008 will be defined.
