Nowicki told a press conference said that this is especially the case in Serb and other non-Albanians communities. He said that even after five years since the international forces arrived in Kosovo-Metohija, Serbs and Roma are still not guaranteed the basic rights to live, work and move about the region freely.
He said that the reason for this lies in the large amount of corruption within Kosovo institutions and the fact that a small number of individuals are given great powers.
The Ombudsman also said that repatriation of displaced persons is very slow and that many people have even left the province following the March violence.
Recalling the violence of Albanian extremists of March 17-19, Nowicki said that the report of the March riots made by his office are completely different from ones done by UNMIK and KFOR.
