The National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal decided at its session today to submit documentation requested by the Tribunal's Prosecutor's Office for six cases and to free one witness from the obligation of keeping secrets in proceedings conducted before the court.
The council also positively responded to seven requests from defence attorneys.
Since the beginning of 2007, the council held eight sessions and freed 90 witnesses from keeping official secrets following requests of the prosecution and submitted several tens of thousands of pages of documentation as a response to 64 requests of the prosecution. The council also responded to a great number of defence attorneys.
The National Council will hold regular sessions on every second Monday and will continue to respond in a timely manner to requests of the Tribunal's Prosecutor's Office and defence attorneys of the indictees, according to a statement.
