Observed by sectors, in May 2007 compared to the same month 2006, the trends were noted as follows: production of electric power, gas and water supply recorded a growth of 10.4%, manufacturing saw a rise of 3.7%, whereas mining and quarrying fell by 3.7%
The data on industrial production by sectors in May 2007, compared to May 2006, show growth in the production of durable consumer goods by 18.3, intermediate products, energy excluded, by 8.6%, energy by 6.5%, non-durable consumer goods by 0.5%, while fall was noted for capital goods by 6.8%.
The industrial production volume in May 2007, compared to May 2006, expressed the following trends: growth in 19 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 70% and fall in ten divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 30%.
The largest positive influence on the industrial production growth in May 2007 compared to May 2006 had the divisions of: production of electricity, manufacture of food products, manufacture of electrical machinery and devices, manufacture of basic metals, manufacture of pulp, paper and paper products.
The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for May 2007, compared to the 2006 average, indicates a 4.8% growth of the overall industrial production and a 5.5 % growth of manufacturing.
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for May 2007, compared to April 2007, indicates a 0.1% fall of the overall industrial production and a 1.5% fall of manufacturing.
The production of small-size enterprises (employing fewer than 50 workers) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is monitored on a sample of 334 selected units of the section of manufacturing.
In May, 122 enterprises submitted the requested data. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, in May 2007 compared to the 2006 average, the overall industrial production increased by 4.3% (otherwise this growth equals to 3.1%) manufacturing increased by 8.5% (otherwise the growth equals to 6.9%).
