Balanced budget, macroeconomic stability as priorities for Ministry of Finance

Serbian Minister of Finance Mirko Cvetkovic said today that the priorities of this Ministry will be the adoption of a balanced budget for 2007, maintenance of macroeconomic stability in the country and creating the outline for the next year’s budget.
Cvetkovic said that the budget should be harmonised and handed over to the government for adoption by mid-June so that parliament can enact it by the end of June.
The Minister announced that upon the 2007 budget adoption, macroeconomic estimates will be made in order to be incorporated into the 2008 budget draft.
According to Cvetkovic, the Ministry will offer all necessary support to Serbia’s European integrations and providing macroeconomic stability as all that will create a business friendly environment, increase production and improve living standards of citizens.
