Gasification of Nis worth RSD 132.9 million kicks off

Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Popovic marked the beginning of works on the gas distribution network in Nis whose total value is RSD 132.9 million.

Popovic said that the network that should cover five settlements will provide a maximum of 50,000 potential connections.
Popovic said that the funds for gasification of Nis were partly provided from the National Investment Plan and partly from the network.
The length of the gas pipelines network will be over 65 km, according to Popovic.
The works should be completed by the end of the year, he said and noted that during winter months thanks to gasification air pollution will be reduced as well as problems of power supplier EPS.
The construction of the Nis-Sophia gas pipeline is among priorities of huge strategic importance, the Minister said and explained that at the moment Serbia gets gas through Horgos. If we built another pipeline, there would be fewer technical problems, Popovic stressed.
