Visoki Decani monastery inscribed on World Heritage List

The Visoki Decani monastery in Kosovo-Metohija was inscribed on the World Heritage List, UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee decided today in Suzhou, China.

The support for the monastery to be inscribed on the list was given by China, Benin, Russian Federation, UK, Columbia, India, Nigeria, Norway and Lithuania whereas no one of the 21 Committee members voted against.
The dossier on the Visoki Decani monastery, prepared by Sanja Kesic-Ristic and Serbian Bureau for Preservation of Monuments, was especially praised by the Committee. Today’s session of the Committee was also attended by Serbia-Montenegrin Ambassador to UNESCO Dragoljub Najman.
