The Ministry says in a statement that Dragin delivered a speech at today’s conference, occasioned by the completion of the programme for building capacities in the environmental sector. Conference participants discussed details of the implementation of the project, whose goal is to strengthen the legislature in the Serbian environmental sector, both at central and local levels.
One of the project’s key results is the proposal for a national environmental protection programme with action plans, which sets short and medium-term policy goals regarding environmental protection. The short-term goals refer to the 2005-2009 period, and the medium-term ones to the 2010–2014 period.
Local environmental action plans (LEAP) for four municipalities have also been prepared within the project, as well as a regional LEAP plan for the Bor District.
The project, financed from CARDS funds, was directed by the EAR and implemented by a DHV-led consortium, adds the statement.
