Serbian Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac held meetings today with the Russian and Italian ambassadors to Serbia, Aleksandar Alekseyev and Alessandro Merola respectively.

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that at the meeting with the Italian Ambassador, Sutanovac stressed that Italy is one of Serbia’s most important partners and added he fully appreciates Italy’s strong support of Serbia’s full membership in the Partnership for Peace and the EU.
The Russian Ambassador and Sutanovac showed joint dedication to the continuation of cooperation between the Serbian and Russian defence ministries.

Sutanovac said he is particularly pleased that members of the Russian parachuting units will take part in the international competition due to be held in Nis this year.
Also present at the meeting between Sutanovac and the Russian Ambassador was Russian military envoy General Vladimir Lugavoy, who Sutanovac presented with a gilded sword on occasion of his retirement.
Also present at the Minister’s meetings with the Italian and Russian ambassadors was Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Dusan Spasojevic, concludes the statement.
