Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Slobodan Milosavljevic and Austrian Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management Josef Proell opened today an exhibition of Austrian food products.
In the exhibition in the Atrium business centre featuring 25 Austrian food makers, Milosavljevic said that Austria is trying to increase exports to Serbia in this way and reduce the deficit in commerce with food and agricultural products.
He said that Serbia exported to Austria food products worth of $52 million whereas imports of food products from Austria amounted to nearly $20 million.
The Minister noted that Serbia has the potential to increase its exports to Austria by 20-30% and added that an exhibition of Serbian food products will take place in Vienna in autumn.
Agricultural products are Serbia’s main export products and we must do everything to promote their quality and become competitive on the EU market, Milosavljevic said.
Proell noted that Serbian food products are known in Austria for their good quality.
