Opening the regional meeting called "Student road to Europe" held at the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, Loncar recalled that Serbia started the Bologna process as early as 1999 and that it signed the Bologna Declaration in 2003, but that only with the adoption of the new law created conditions for the reform.
In order to fulfill goals from the Bologna process, in the upcoming period it is necessary to establish even better cooperation between all key institutions in Serbia, on the basis of the Law on higher education.
The Minister said that these institutions are the National Council for Higher Education, the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Control, the Conference of Universities, the Conference of Academies of Branch Studies, and all accredited institutions of higher education and student conferences, including the Ministry of Education.
Loncar said that educational institutions have made a lot of effort to keep track with the countries that started reforms much before Serbia, which has to do a lot of work in order to become a full member of the European space of higher education by 2010.
The Minister said that it is encouraging that
the reforms of higher education in Serbia were rated with a four at the conference of EU ministers in charge of higher education, held in London five days ago.
As part of the meeting "Student road to Europe", students from Serbia and ex Yugoslav republics will exchange experiences in the next four days on the formation and work of the Students parliament, application of the Bologna process, student standard and student rights.
