Speaking to the Beta RFI radio, Cubrilo said that it is important to improve relations with those who left Serbia during the 1990s, and added that estimates show that there are approximately 400,000 young educated people from Serbia living in diaspora.
Cubrilo said that it is important to solve the problems of the young in diaspora related to military service and validation of university diplomas.
The Ministry will work on a solution that would enable the young to carry out civil military service or do other forms of work for Serbia while living abroad.
As for validation of university diplomas, the Ministry will try to facilitate that process with the aid of modern technology and the Internet.
We will try to be a service for resolving administrative problems which the young from diaspora can hardly solve by themselves, the minister said and added that one of the major problems is the lack of information on people who live in diaspora, their professions, places where they live, and which part of Serbia they are from etc.
She said that according to estimates, there are between 2 million and 4 million Serbs living in diaspora and added that the Ministry will try to get the exact data through polls.
