Popovic, who is also head of the economic team for Kosovo-Metohija and the south of Serbia, told Tanjug that by protesting exiled Serbs will clearly send a message that they want to return to their homes.
Although it is not organising the protest, the Coordinating Centre supports the protest on April 26 and 27 on the Raska-Kosovska Mitrovica road.
The protest will be organised by associations of exiled and kidnapped Serbs with support of the Serbian National Council, Popovic said.
He recalled that after 1999, nearly 250,000 Serbs were expelled from their homes, several thousands were most brutally killed while tens of thousands Serbs lost their jobs.
The Serbian community requests fundamental human rights – the right to freedom, safety and work, Popovic said noting that the UN Security Council’s mission will be able to see that standards envisioned by Resolution 1244 are not being implemented.
