The Ministry of Energy and Mining says in a statement that ever since the Serbian government’s board for observing the jubilee was set up, this will be the third time that a French city has hosted an exhibition on the work and personality of Nikola Tesla.
After a highly successful autumn exhibition at the Council of Europe’s building in Strasbourg and the January show at the Serbian Cultural Centre in Paris, “Tesla’s Wondrous World of Electricity” will also be available in Millhouse at the EDF Electropolis Museum, whose founder was the French National Electric Company EDF.
Apart from Minister Naumov, scheduled to speak at the opening of the exhibition is also the president of the French association of museums devoted to electric energy Christian Buchel, Director of the EDF Electropolis Museum Claude Welty and Director of the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade Vladimir Jelenkovic.
The entire event will be organised with the help of the Serbian foreign ministry, the Serbian Mission and Consular Office in Strasbourg and the Serbian embassy in France.
The exhibition will be open from April 20 until September 2, though it was first planned to last only two months.
Visitors will be able to get acquainted with the Serbian scientist’s work with the help of over 40 digital print panels in English and French, as well as several models and working models of Tesla’s inventions.
During the entire exhibition, a film about Tesla dubbed in French will be screened.
The exhibition is adapted to various categories of visitors. Easily comprehensible stories will be presented to children and electric energy will be explained through a number of multimedia effects. Some Tesla’s experiments will also be demonstrated live.
The EDF Electropolis Museum in Millhouse has never had a single exhibition item on Tesla. Having learned about his work through talks and literature received from representatives of the organisational board for observing the jubilee, representatives of the EDF Electropolis Museum showed willingness to prepare a permanent layout on the great scientist’s work after the exhibition.
