Raskovic-Ivic hailed the announced arrival of the UN Security Council mission to Kosovo, whose members will hear the opinions of Serbs and Albanians, ordinary people, officials and political representatives.
For some solutions it is too early, some things should better be changed step by step, she said and added that Serbs, Albanians and Ahtisaari all have ideas on how to solve the Kosovo status issue, whereas the international community may come up with some other solution.
Member of the European parliament and NATO Western European Union Assembly Floris de Gou said that he advocates stability in the region, underlining that it is impossible to create an ideal situation and yet a solution must be found. Its bringing should not be postponed too much because that can cause instability in the region.
President of the Serbian National Council of Northern Kosovo Milan Ivanovic spoke about the current situation in Kosovska Mitrovica, the only multi-ethnic town in Kosovo-Metohija. He said that in the town's northern part, alongside Serbs, Roma, Ashkalis and Bosniaks, there is some 15% of Albanians.
We support the plan and platform of the state negotiating team on the preservation of territorial integrity and our status within the Republic of Serbia, Ivanovic pointed out and added that it is logical that rights granted to Albanians living in Kosovo-Metohija should be granted to Serbs as well in the territory in which they live and have lived even before 1999.
According to him, the plan of Martti Ahtisaari is pro-Albanian, unacceptable for the Serbs and its implementation is incompatible with the survival of Serbs in Kosovo.
