By sectors, compared to February 2006, the trends this February were noted as follows: processing industry went up by 3.8%, while in the sector of production and distribution of electricity, gas and water there was a fall of 11.9%, as well as in the mining and quarrying sector where it fell by 0.6%,
The data on industrial production by sectors in February 2007, compared to February 2006, show growth in the production of durable consumer goods by 62%, intermediate goods, with the exception of energy, by 10.5%, whereas the production of energy fell by 10.9%, capital goods by 8.2% and non-durable consumer goods by 0.2%.
Overall industrial production in February 2007 against February 2006 rose in 13 areas (with a 49% share in production), though there was a fall in 16 sectors (with a 51% share in overall production).
Industrial production growth in February 2007 against same month last year was mostly influenced by production of food products, furniture, basic metals and non-metal minerals products, whereas the negative influence was exerted by the production of electric energy, chemicals and chemical products and oil derivatives.
The deseasonalised index of industrial production for February 2007 against the 2006 average indicates a total growth of 2.6%, with a growth of 4.6% in the processing industry.
The deseasonalised index of industrial production for February 2007 compared to this January indicates a total fall of 1.3% in industrial production and of 1.7% in the processing industry.
Production in the small enterprises sector (less than 50 employees), which are not included in the regular statistical surveys, is monitored through a sample of 335 selected units from the processing industry sector.
In February, 102 enterprises submitted the required data, and when this data from industrial production in small enterprises is included, industrial production in February 2007, against the 2006 average, fell by 9.1% (excluding these figures the fall is that of 9.8%), and in the processing industry it fell by 10.8% (excluding these figures it fell by 11.6%).
