Observed by sectors, in January 2007 compared to January 2006, the trends were noted as follows: mining and quarrying fell by 0.7%%, processing industry 15.6%, while in the sector of production and distribution of electricity, gas and water there was a growth of 3.3%.
The data on industrial production by sectors in January 2007, compared to January 2006, show growth in the production of durable consumer goods by 68.4%, non-durable consumer goods by 14.2%, intermediate goods, with the exception of energy, by 22%, capital goods by 7%, while there was a fall of 0.3% in the energy sector.
Overall industrial production in January 2007 against January 2006 rose in 20 areas (with an 83% share in production) while there was a fall in 9 sectors (with a 17% share in overall production).
The industrial production growth in January 2006 compared to January 2005 was mostly influenced by production of food products, basic metals, furniture, chemicals and chemical products and non-metal minerals.
The deseasonalised index of industrial production for January 2007 against the 2006 average of industrial production indicates a total growth of 4%, with a growth of 6.5% in the processing industry.
The deseasonalised index of industrial production for January 2007 compared to December 2006 indicates that there was a total fall of 1.1% in industrial production, while there was a growth of 0.3% in the processing industry.
Production in the small enterprises sector (less than 50 employees) which are not included in the regular statistical surveys is monitored through a sample of 335 selected units from the processing industry sector.
In January, 80 enterprises submitted required data, and when this data from industrial production in small enterprises is included, industrial production in January 2007, against the 2006 average, in total industrial production is less than 10.4% (excluding these figures the fall is by 10.2%), and in processing industry it is less than 18.1% (excluding these figures the fall is by 17.7%).
