The SEMDAS programme, assisted by a EU donation worth €1.14 million, gives opportunity to Serbian enterprises to apply for grants of up to €50,000. In the first three application periods, the total of €410,000 was approved, and 32 of 50 applicants were successful.
The project is implemented by SIEPA, with the assistance of the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
The July application period closes on July 16, and if the autumn period is not approved, funds that have not been allocated will be returned to the donor.
The SIEPA received a €2.5 million assistance from the EU for the implementation of a series of projects under the Export Promotion Programme. The main purpose of the programme is to create preconditions for improving Serbia's export and to strengthen ties of domestic companies with international partners.
The SIEPA also aims to promote investment. It gathers data on the need for foreign direct investment and strategic partnerships in various industries. It informs potential investors on major difficulties which Serbian regions have while implementing investment projects and thus help remove them.
The SIEPA informs foreign investors on the industrial tradition of a region, its capacities, conditions for greenfield and grownfield projects, business premises etc.
