The proposal on repeating the elections was supported by 16 RIK members which was insufficient for it to be approved since a majority of 19 votes was needed.
Earlier, voting results in eight stations were annulled because the number of ballots in the ballot box exceeded the number of voters registered at those particular stations.
RIK Spokesperson Miodrag Petrovic stated that the deadline for repeating elections at these stations is seven days since the annulment, that is, January 30. He added that after that, RIK should announce the results of repeated elections.
Voting results were annulled at following stations: Barajevo station 24, Palilula 27, Ruma 22, Boljevac 15, Cajetina 4, Gadzin Han 32, Presevo 32 and Bujanovac 20.
RIK annulled the results at Sabac election station number 15, where 834 voters voted, and in Senta station number 22, where 1,469 voters voted, because a husband and his wife were both on the election board.
Also annulled were the results of voting at Knjazevac station number 6 and Lipljan stations 7 and 277.
RIK annulled the results at Vojvodinci station 39 in the Vrsac municipality due to objections that there were voters who voted without personal identification documents and without using spray.
Director of the Serbian Statistics Office Dragan Vukmirovic said that repeated elections would only theoretically influence the results, and not practically.
RIK rejected a number of proposals last night submitted by individuals, election lists and parties.
Certain RIK members pointed to irregularities at Obilic station 2 where the ballot box was broken.
