In a statement to the news agency Tanjug, Ilic said that this contract was given to the Spanish-Austrian consortium FCC-Alpine Mayreder, who will invest €800 million in the construction of the Horgos-Pozega highway.
He added that the concession contract will be valid for the next 25 years, during which the Serbian budget will receive tax revenues worth €1.5 million.
According to Ilic, the contract will be signed next Thursday, and construction should begin within three months of the signing of the contract at the latest. The deadline for completing construction is four years.
According to the contract the consortium FCC- Alpine Mayreder will collect payment of road toll on existing roads from Horgos to Pozega with the beginning of construction, and pay taxes to the Serbian government for using this highway over the next 25 years. After the expiration of the contract the investment will be handed over to the public road company “Putevi Srbije” for management, explained Ilic.
Ilic said that this investment will bring foreign capital, provide Serbia with a good modern road and increase transport going through Serbia.
The concession contract concerns construction of the 106 kilometre long left track of the highway from Horgos to Novi Sad, using and maintenance of part of the highway from Novi Sad to Belgrade which is 68 kilometres, as well as designing and construction of a 148 kilometres long highway from Belgrade to Pozega.
