The Serbian Electoral Committee (RIK) stated last night that at the parliamentary elections in Serbia, scheduled for January 21, a total of 6,652,105 citizens will have the right to vote, which is by around 14,000 more than at the referendum for the new Constitution that took place on October 28 and 29, 2006.
RIK announced that 31,370 voters will have the right to vote abroad at 58 polling stations, whereas 7,082 prison inmates will also be able to vote.
Voters may only be added to the list through a court ruling before January 18, whereas the final number of voters will be announced by January 19 at midnight.
All voters should be informed by January 15 about the date and time of elections.
The deadline for submitting election lists expired on January 5 at midnight and RIK announced 20 election lists.
By January 10 RIK is to adopt the final election list and publish it in the Official Herald. This date is also the deadline by which parties and coalitions may revoke their lists.
