Retail prices of goods and services up by 0.1% in December against previous month

The Serbian Statistical Office stated today that retail prices of goods and services in Serbia in December this year rose on average by 0.1% against November.
According to the statement, prices of goods are up by 0.1%, and services by 0.2%, while retail prices rose by 6.6% against December 2005.
The average annual increase in retail prices in 2006, compared to 2005, was 12.7%.
The average cost of living in Serbia in December this year against the pervious month rose by 0.1%, while compared to December 2005, they are up by 6%.
The average annual cost of living in Serbia, in 2006 against 2005, increased by 11.7%.
The prices of agricultural products increased by more than 3.6%. The discrepancy between the increase in the index of retail prices and the cost of living index was due to different impacts of growth in prices for individual items on the overall index.
The prices of agricultural products increased by 3.6%. Prices of vegetables and fruits are customary for this season. The price of eggs increased.
The costs of industrial foodstuffs fell by 0.4% on average, in which sector an insignificant variation in prices was observed.
The prices of beverages fell by 0.1% on average, while prices of tobacco remained at the same level as last month.
The prices of non-food industrial products increased by 0.1% on average. No significant variation in prices was observed in this group of products.
