The Serbian Electoral Commission (RIK) formed last night working bodies for conducting elections in Serbia, which are scheduled to take place on January 21, 2007.
The working bodies formed by the RIK will submit election material in every municipality to electoral boards before the voting and take over election material from electoral boards after voting is finished.
Working bodies will also propose the permanent members of the electoral board, except the permanent members of electoral boards within institutes for enforcing penal sentences and electoral boards abroad.
The working bodies will be organised and coordinated by heads of municipal administration, and the seat of these bodies will be in the municipal assembly buildings.
In municipalities which have up to 50 polling stations the working bodies will consist of three members, and in municipalities with more than 50 polling stations they will consist of five members.
The RIK will appoint members of the working bodies from among members and deputies of members of municipal electoral commissions, electoral commissions of the city municipalities in Belgrade and electoral commissions of Kragujevac, Nis and Novi Sad, at the proposal of the RIK coordinator.
