The statement continues that JAA membership enables that certificates, procedures and licences issued in member countries are standardised and acknowledged in the EU. As for the Serbian aviation, it will create conditions for it to take up an equal position within the European aviation industry.
At today's meeting in Amsterdam, the JAA Board of Directors issued a special recognition to the Civil Aviation Directorate for its work and implementation of high-level European standards in this sector.
Serbia is the first state that has managed to fulfil the entry requirements within a year, whereas other member countries completed the JAA accession procedure in four to six years.
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) took part in the assessment and verification procedure for the first time, which only adds significance to Serbia's success.
