President of the National council for cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Rasim Ljajic said today that the EU is disposed to continue negotiations on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) directly after parliamentary elections in Serbia, and to begin the process of including Serbia in the Partnership for Peace.
In a statement to the news agency Beta, Ljajic stressed that handing over Ratko Mladic to The Hague will not be a condition for resumption of negotiations, and added that there is a growing conviction within the EU that constant pressure on Serbia is proving to be counterproductive.
